You've ‘done' Paris,  Rome,  London,  Amsterdam,  Madrid. Now it's time to discover a unique European destination that doesn't often jump to mind -- Iceland.

Iceland was prominent on the media radar in April when ash plumes from the Eyjafjallajokull volcano (EY-ya-fyat-lah-YOH-kuht; or easier yet, "Hey, ya fergot La Yogurt") disrupted airspace across Europe, affecting millions of travelers around the world.

But a new Icelandic tourism campaign is aimed to make travelers aware that the safety, infrastructure and beauty of the country is still intact. The volcanic eruptions affected only about 3-5% of the country and they are located far from urban areas.

The nation's official carrier, Icelandair, is luring visitors back with one of the lowest round-trip airfare offers. A sale rate of $404 is valid on trips finished on or before May 8, 2011 -- with no blackout dates!

Icelandair serves the capital city of Reykjavik with nonstop daily flights from Boston or New York-JFK. The carrier teams with AirTran between Atlanta and Boston and with Delta between Atlanta and JFK to make for a smooth single airport connection.

The total ticket price, including all taxes, fees and surcharges, is $656.20.

There's even a less expensive inclusive rate of $612.20 offered on trips started on or after August 21 and completed by October 15.

This is a wonderful time to see this dynamic country of fire and ice. Check out more at: http://www.inspiredbyiceland.com . Also, visit the official tourist board at: http://www.visiticeland.com .
