In a galaxy far, far away — or rather in countries around the world — serious “Star Wars” fans can discover the sites of some of their favorite scenes from the series’ many films.

While many of the franchise’s scenes take place against the starry green screen backdrop of space, many of the on-planet scenes were inspired by real places — from California parks to the icy terrain of Norway — right here on Earth.

Whether you’re after nostalgia or the perfect selfie, the force will definitely be with you at these destinations.

Redwood National and State Parks, California

45% of California’s redwoods are found at the Redwood National and State Parks. The parks — specifically Humboldt, Jedediah Smith, Prairie Creek, and Grizzly Creek Parks — stood in for the forrest moon of Endor in “Return of the Jedi, Episode VI.”

Lanzarote, Canary Islands

Lanzarote — the smallest of the Canary Islands — has been used several times for desert environments in the “Star Wars” universe. The Green Lagoon (Charco de los Clicos), near the seaside village in El Golfo, is seen prominently as the planet Ferrix in the Disney+ series “Star Wars: Andor.” The islands lava fields, with their black and golden beaches and strange rock formations, certainly look other-worldly.

Hardangerjøkulen Glacier, Norway

Pack warm if you want to plan to visit Hoth. This giant glacier served as the remote ice planet in “The Empire Strikes Back.” Bring your friends to reenact the Battle of Hoth. Just be sure to avoid wampa and Imperial probe droids.

Puzzlewood, Forest of Dean, U.K.

This site is familiar as the planet Takodana from “The Force Awakens.” The 14-acre forest is home to caves and ancient ruins. When planning your visit make time for a scavenger hunt that’s just under two miles. You can stay nearby at the Puzzlewood Cottages.

Lake Como, Italy

Lake Como is Italy’s third largest lake. It’s best known as a glamorous getaway for the rich and famous, but it’s also the location of key scenes on the planet of Naboo in “Attack of the Clones.” Guests can arrive by water taxi and enjoy lavish mansions from the 18th century, amazing food and more.
