Artful living in Castleberry Hill loft

Massoud Besharat says that his Castleberry Hill gallery "really and truly ... is my home." The granite quarry owner uses his loft space for his art business as well as his living space.

Massoud Besharat's Castleberry Hill loft gives him ample wall space to display his art collection. His business, the Besharat Gallery, has two parts, one below his loft and one at street level in front of it.

The "Technicolor Bitch" by Jean Tannous has a comfy seat for viewing the fine art collection in the great room.

Skylights in the great room illuminate the sofa from Ligne Roset.

The "Saarinen Womb Chair" is part of an eclectic mix in the great room.

This portrait of a young Ronald Reagan is Besharat's favorite piece of the moment. Mark Mason Karlson is the artist of the Ronald Reagan piece the kitchen.

The kitchen has a mostly contemporary feel. Besharat says it is the heart of his home.

An unexpected touch is the elaborate stained glass panel dating to 1845 that Besharat mounted above the sink.

Even the dining room takes a back seat to the art.

A vintage Harley-Davidson rests beneath the staircase. Besharat said he bought it "to show off."

Steel beams, brushed steel railings and other industrial accents were used.

The master suite, which includes a sitting room, mimics the gallery look.

Besharat splits his time between Atlanta and Elberton, where he runs a granite quarry.

The master bathroom keeps with the industrial loft vibe, but there is a hint of nature in the sink pattern.

Besharat eventually plans to create a sculpture garden around this piece in the backyard.
