The feature is called Facebook Sports Stadium, and it's essentially a platform full of content related to whatever American football game you're watching. The company said it'll add other sports soon.

With the feature, users can keep an eye on stats and scores -- all of which are updated live -- and find out where to watch any particular game on TV. Users can also see sports commentary from journalists and others as well as what their friends are saying about the game.

Facebook has described the feature as "a second-screen experience that (they) hope makes watching the broadcast even better."

Interested users can find Facebook Sports Stadium by searching for a game in the search bar of the networking site. The company has said the new feature is currently only available on the iPhone in the U.S., but it plans to add more platforms in the coming weeks.
