As Atlanta United President Darren Eales said last week, the team didn't complete a deal in the transfer window, which closed at 11:59 p.m. Tuesday.
Atlanta United's front office worked to find a replacement for defensive midfielder Carlos Carmona, who was sold to Colo-Colo in Chile in January.
Eales said that they would like to find some cover for 34-year-old veteran Jeff Larentowicz, who is “brilliant” as the team’s defensive midfielder.
The next transfer window, which is the period during which teams can sign players, will open July 10 and close Aug. 8.
Larentowicz has started every game this season for the Five Stripes (6-1-1), which are unbeaten in seven games and will play at Chicago on Saturday.
The team has two defensive midfielders who are playing for Atlanta United 2 this season. That group of players includes Chris Goslin, the team’s second Homegrown Player, and Oliver Shannon, who was selected in the SuperDraft in January after a standout career at Clemson.
