Super Bowl ticket prices on the secondary market spiked Saturday, the eve of the big game, after drifting downward in the past week.
The cheapest available seats at five popular ticket resellers ranged from $2,700 to $2,900 (before fees) Saturday, up about $500 from the range Thursday for comparable corner and end-zone seats in the upper deck.
The market has been volatile since the Rams-Patriots matchup was set, leading a spokesman for ticket reseller SeatGeek to describe the price movement as “quite the roller coaster.”
Brett Goldberg, co-CEO of resale site TickPick, wrote in an update to clients that ticket buying accelerated late Friday, resulting in a decrease in inventory and an increase in prices “across the board.”
Tickets remain available across the secondary market, and there could be continued price volatility Sunday.
