How the winning run scored: Syracuse turned four singles and a Gwinnett throwing error into four runs in the fifth innings and the Chiefs went on to deliver the visiting G-Braves their 10th straight loss. Gwinnett's Ernesto Mejia hit his 15th home run, a solo shot in the third inning.

On the mound: Gwinnett starter Eric Junge gave up eight earned runs before being pulled in the fifth. He has yielded 18 hits and 13 runs in his last two starts.

Up next for Gwinnett: The G-Braves open a four-game series at Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Gwinnett RH Todd Redmond (6-5, 3.40) faces RH D.J. Mitchell (5-4, 5.74).
