Stephen A. Smith believes University of Alabama head coach Nick Saban should make Jalen Hurts the second-string quarterback.

During an episode of First Take, Smith was asked what Nick Saban should do with Hurts, and Smith quickly answered.

“Jalen Hurts is not impressive,” Smith said. “Were you at the National Championship? I was there. It was one of the most awful, deplorable, embarrassing, impotent performances that I have ever seen from a quarterback at the collegiate level.”

The discussion on First Take came after Hurts told the media that he was frustrated with the handling of the quarterback situation.

Alabama opens up the 2018 season against Louisville on Saturday, Sept. 1, at 8:00 p.m.
