Here’s five things to know for this weekend:

1. Falcons draft UCLA pass rusher Takkarist McKinley 

In the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft, the Falcons traded up for the 26th overall pick to select UCLA's  Takkarist McKinley on Thursday night. D. Orlando Ledbetter recaps the Falcons pick, how they moved up in the selection and what Falcons general manger Thomas Dimitroff and coach Dan Quinn said about McKinley. Rounds 2 and 3 of the NFL Draft begin on Friday at 7 p.m.

2. Hawks, Wizards face off in Game 6

Either the Hawks win tonight or they’re eliminated. The Wizards won Wednesday’s game at Washington, D.C.’s Verizon Center 103-99 to take the lead in the series 3-2. Game 6 tips off at 7:30 from Atlanta’s Philips Arena.

3. Braves sweep Mets

Not including Wednesday's rained out game that was rescheduled for September, the Braves swept the Mets. The Braves won Thursday's game against the Mets 7-5. The Braves travel to Milwaukee's Miller Park to play a three-game series against the Brewers. The first game is on Friday and is scheduled to begin at 8:10 p.m.

4. Atlanta United to play D.C. United

Atlanta United returns home on Sunday to play D.C. United at Bobby Dodd Stadium. The game is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. Doug Roberson spoke with D.C. United's beat reporter about team chemistry and what the matchup to watch is on Sunday.

5. Former Braves catcher David Ross gushes about Braves in new book

Retired World Series Champion David Ross writes in his new book "Teammate" about his time with the Atlanta Braves from 2009-2012. Ross mentions his relationship with former catcher Brian McCann and what he learned from then manager Bobby Cox.
