MLS Accountability Scorecard: Week 3

A few weeks ago, I took a deep dive into the teams in the MLS Eastern Conference, and provided my predictions on how the contenders will do in each of their remaining games. 

So, each week I’ll tally each team’s results and see how many I predicted correctly, and how many I got wrong because the teams didn’t play them correctly. 

Toronto 

Third week: off.

Second week: vs. Philadelphia. I predicted a win. Toronto won 3-0. 

At Montreal. I predicted a draw. Toronto won 3-1. 

First week: At Chicago. I predicted a loss. Toronto won 3-1. 

NYCFC 

Third week: off.

Second week: at New York Red Bulls. I predicted a loss. They drew 1-1. 

First week: Vs. New England. I predicted a win. NYCFC won 2-1. 

Columbus 

Third week: off.

Second week: vs. L.A. Galaxy. I predicted a win. Columbus won 2-0. 

Vs. Dallas. I predicted a draw. Columbus won 2-1. 

First week: At Orlando. I predicted a draw. They drew 1-1. 

Chicago 

Third week: at Montreal. I predicted a draw. They won 1-0. 1 

Second week: vs. Minnesota United. I predicted a win. They lost 2-1. 

First week: At Montreal. I predicted a loss. Chicago lost 3-0, and vs. Toronto. I predicted a win. Chicago lost 3-1. 

New York Red Bulls 

Third week: at Dallas. I predicted a loss. They drew 2-2. 2 

Second week: vs. NYCFC. I predicted a win. They tied 1-1. 

First week: At Portland. I predicted a loss. New York Red Bulls lost 2-0. 

Atlanta United 

Third week: off.

Second week: at D.C. United. I predicted a win. Atlanta United lost 1-0. 

At Philadelphia. I predicted a loss. Atlanta United tied 2-2. 

First week: Off. I got that one right. 

Montreal 

Third week: vs. Chicago. I predicted a draw. They lost 1-0. 1 

Second week: vs. Toronto. I predicted a draw. Toronto won 3-1. 

First week: Vs. Chicago. I predicted a win. Montreal won 3-0 and vs. Real Salt Lake. I predicted a win. Montreal won 3-1. 

Philadelphia 

Third week: off.

Second week: at Toronto. I predicted a loss. Philadelphia lost 3-0. 1 

Vs. Atlanta United. I predicted a win. Philadelphia tied 2-2. 6 

First week: At San Jose. I predicted a loss. Philadelphia drew 2-2. 

Orlando City 

Third week: at New England. I predicted a loss. Orlando City lost 4-0. 3 

Second week: vs. Vancouver. I predicted a win. Orlando City lost 2-1. 

First week: Vs. Columbus. I predicted a draw. Orlando City drew 1-1. 

RUNNING RESULTS 

After one week, I accurately predicted five of the seven games. 

After second week, I accurately predicted two of the nine games. Not good. 

After third week, I accurately predicted one of three games.
