The last three qualifiers with local ties were eliminated in the second day of qualifying for the Atlanta Tennis Championships at the Racquet Club of the South on Sunday.

Atlanta's Gabriel Townes was beaten by Tim Smyczek, 6-4, 6-2. Townes was able to put just 49 percent of his first serves into play.

Austin Smith of Cumming was beaten by Denis Kudla, 6-4, 6-4. Smith saved just 40 percent of his break points, compared to Kudla's 88 percent.

Will Spencer of the University of Georgia was beaten by Haiti's Olivier Sajous, 6-4, 7-5.

The rest of those advancing to Monday's final round of qualifying were Matthew Ebden, Rajeev Ram, Yuichi Sugita, Phillip Simmonds and Marinko Matosevic. Qualifying begins at 1 p.m. The first round will begin at 4 p.m. at the earliest Monday.
