Romario Williams and Jeffrey Otoo will be eligible to play for Charleston against Atlanta United when the teams meet in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on June 14 at Kennesaw State’s Fifth Third Bank Stadium.

Both players are on season-long loans from the Five Stripes to the Battery. It’s not uncommon for loaned players to not be eligible to play against their parent clubs should the teams meet.

Just because they can be selected doesn’t mean they will. However, both did play against Atlanta United in their preseason game. Williams scored a goal in Atlanta United’s 2-1 win.

Williams, a 22-year-old forward, was acquired by Atlanta United from Montreal in December 2016. The former first-round pick in the 2015 SuperDraft is tied for the USL lead with 10 goals scored this season.

Otoo, a 19-year-old midfielder/forward, was signed by Atlanta United in June 2016. He has made three appearances for the Battery this season.
