Oklahoma’s Lincoln Riley takes shot at Bulldogs’ defense during interview

Oklahoma head coach Lincoln Riley took a shot at Georgia football and its defense Tuesday during an interview.
"If you throw Georgia in the Big 12 every year, there is no way they are a top-five defense in the country,” Riley said during his interview with SiriusXM’s ESPNU channel.
Once Riley’s comment surfaced on social media, Oklahoma’s coach added that it was not meant to be a shot at Georgia rather a praise of the Big 12.
That’s not a shot at Georgia....they were absolutely one of the best defenses last year...it’s a compliment to our league-

Oklahoma lost in overtime to the Bulldogs in the College Football Playoff semifinal game. The Sooners managed to record over 500 offensive yards against Georgia’s defense, which was ranked among the top five in the nation at the time of the Rose Bowl.
Twitter users immediately reacted to Riley’s comment.

They gave up 48 points to the #1 offense in the country... no way they would be a top 5 defense.

If you throw Oklahoma in the SEC, they’re not winning more than 4-5 games plus Oklahoma just lost to Georgia.
