How the winning run scored: Tyler Kuhn took first on a one-out walk in the bottom of the ninth with the score tied at 2. He went to third on a single to center and scored on a single to right.

At the plate: Two of the Braves four hits were solo homers. Left fielder Stefan Gartrell had a leadoff homer in the second, his 16th. In the fourth first baseman Ernesto Mejia hit his 22nd, his 75th RBI.

On the mound: Starter Julio Teheran allowed three hits and one run with five walks and two strikeouts in five innings. Reliever Anthony Varvaro, the fourth of five Braves pitchers, took the loss. He was charged with two runs in one-and-a-third innings.

Up next for Gwinnett: The Braves are at Charlotte for two more games in the four-games series; 7:15 p.m. Monday and 12:15 Tuesday, with a day off Wednesday before moving to Durham for four games.
