The Kennesaw State Owls open training camp on Thursday, and after going 8-3 last season, the team has high expectations.

The Owls have 16 starters returning this season including quarterback Chandler Burks. KSU is also a preseason co-favorite to win the Big South Conference.

"This schedule is going to be challenging, there's no question about it," said Bohannon in a press release. "We felt like we'd be a little bit older and be able to handle it a little bit better. It's good to open with a team like Samford, that was in the playoffs last year and it's a great motivating factor for our kids in the offseason. This has all been part of our plan from the beginning. Now we've got to be more consistent and get ready to play every week.”

Kennesaw State opens its season at Samford Aug. 31.
