Athens drew first blood by forging a 7-0 margin over Commerce East Jackson after the first quarter.

The Spartans registered a 13-0 advantage at halftime over the Eagles.

Neither defense permitted points in the third quarter.

Conditioning showed as the Spartans outscored the Eagles 21-7 in the fourth quarter.
