Three-time defending state champion Parkview reached the semifinals of the Class AAAAA playoffs Saturday by defeating Union Grove 3-0. Asha Wright made four saves to preserve the shutout for the host Panthers.

Kiki Nelson scored a goal and had two assists, and Alex Ober and Cherrelle Jarrett also scored a goal.

Parkview will host Northview on Wednesday for a spot in the title game.

Other Class AAAAA

North Gwinnett 1, Chapel Hill 0: Freshman Taylor Burns scored for host North Gwinnett as the Lady Bulldogs advanced to the semifinals for the first time as a Class AAAAA school. Abigail Groth assisted on the goal. North Gwinnett outshot Chapel Hill 18-1 in the contest.

Northview 3, Tift County 0: A wet field kept both teams scoreless at halftime, but Taylor Tokarz got Northview on the board a minute into the second half. Shelby Apps and Amanda Swartz added one more score each. Hannah Riddle and Taylor Erickson combined in the net for the shutout.

Walton 1, Greenbrier 0 (7-6 PK): A windy night took its toll on both teams as Walton won a game that lasted two overtime periods in a scoreless tie. Madison Bryant played well in goal for the Lady Raiders, making eight saves.

Class AAAA

Whitewater 4, Lakeside-Evans 0: Whitewater blew out Lakeside to move on to the semifinals. The team will take on Northgate, which played Friday night and has pulled off three consecutive wins as a lower seed.

Starr’s Mill 2, Lee County 0: Mandy McCalla scored on a penalty kick to give Starr’s Mill an early lead. Stuart Pope scored the final goal of the game on an assist from McCalla. Kaitlin Stroud and Victoria Hopkins each played a half in goal to get the win.

Class AAA

Columbus 3, Riverwood 0: Columbus blanked visiting Riverwood on Saturday evening to reach the semifinals. The Blue Devils posted their 12th shutout of the season en route to a home game Wednesday night against Creekview.

Creekview 4, Richmond Hill 2: Creekview erupted for four goals in the second half to erase a 1-0 deficit and defeat host Richmond Hill. Whitley Dover scored every Grizzly goal, and assists were made by Jade Denison, Jordan Arthur, Jasmine Fahrnbauer and Cori Dulmage.

Woodward Academy 3, Oconee County 1: A two-goal first half gave Woodward a lead it would not relinquish. Maddy Boone scored the team’s first goal, followed by Shannon Hall. Oconee County scored its lone goal 10 minutes into the second half, but Hall scored Woodward’s final goal on a penalty kick with 14 minutes left.

Class A/2A

Athens Academy 2, Pike County 1: Pike County struck first with a goal in the first half, but Mary Banister of Athens Academy tied the game at halftime on a second-chance opportunity off a free kick from Georgia Hawkins. Banister assisted Emily O’Rear on the game-winning goal in the second half.

Walker 2, St. Vincent’s 0: Evie Kytan assisted Rachel Fine with 27 seconds to go in the match to cement the victory for Walker, which is making its fourth consecutive trip to the semifinals. Goalkeeper Alyse Scott had nine saves to grab her 11th shutout of the season. Nicole Locandro scored in the first half for Walker.

Boys

Class A/2A

Aquinas 2, Blessed Trinity 0: Ethan LaPan and Matt Moses scored on breakaway goals in the first 25 minutes of the game to lift Aquinas over host Blessed Trinity. It will be the program’s fourth trip to the semifinals since 2005, when it won the state title. Aquinas plays Thomasville on Tuesday.
