Alabama (23): LB/RB Brent Calloway (6-foot-2, 217 pounds) of Russellville, Ala., committed to Alabama, switched to Auburn and then signed with Alabama. The Tide lost RB Isaiah Crowell of Columbus to Georgia, but signed Ha'Sean Clinton-Dix (6-1, 203), of Orlando, who is ranked the No. 1 safety in the nation by Rivals and Scout. LB Trey DePriest (6-2, 232), an early enrollee from Springfield, Ohio, figures to make an immediate impact. Rivals ranks Alabama's class at No. 1 in the country; Scout at No. 7.
Arkansas (30): Six WRs, including Marquel Wade (5-11, 185), who already is enrolled, and Chattahoochee's Kane Whitehurst (6-0, 175), highlight this class, which also includes Rivals four-star QB Brandon Allen (6-2, 212) and four-star CB Tevin Mitchel (5-11, 179). OT Brey Cook (6-7, 317), who also already is enrolled, is the No. 1 player in Arkansas and the 12th-highest OT, according to Rivals.
Auburn (24): The national champs went after OLs and got the top guard in Christian Westerman (6-5, 285) and one of the top centers in Reese Dismukes (6-3, 290), who is already enrolled. The Tigers also signed OL Thomas O'Reilly (6-3, 313), of Pope, and Gregory Robinson (6-5, 305), and appear to be still in the running for top-ranked OT Cyrus Kouandijo (6-7, 325). QB Kiehl Frazier (6-3, 210) is from offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn's old high school in Springdale, Ark. North Gwinnett's C.J. Uzomah, likely will play TE, and Carver-Columbus DT Gabe Wright picked the Tigers over Tennessee.
Florida (18): The Gators already had seven early enrollees, including Jeff Driskel (6-4, 225), the nation's top QB, according to Rivals and Scout. New coach Will Muschamp persuaded S Jabari Gorman (5-11, 175), who is from Miami, to pick the Gators over Ohio State. Gorman is one of six DBs to sign with Florida. In a change from former coach Urban Meyer's spread-option offense, Muschamp signed Hunter Joyer (5-11, 248), the nation's No. 1 FB out of Tampa, Fla.
Kentucky (26): Coach Joker Phillips' second year isn't starting well. The Wildcats whiffed on high-profile LB Lamar Dawson, who signed with USC, and TE Jon Davis (Illinois), and their class is considered 11th in the SEC, ahead of only Vanderbilt. OT Darrian Miller (6-5, 286), out of Louisville, Ky., is the top-rated signee, but the Wildcats also pulled three RBs -- Marcus Caffey (Grady), Josh Clemons (Whitewater) and Ashely Lowery (White County) out of Georgia. Lowery likely will be moved to DB.
LSU (22): The Tigers didn't have to go far to sign their top recruits, grabbling consensus No. 1 DT Anthony Johnson (6-3, 294) out of New Orleans, five-star OT La'el Collins (6-4, 315) out of Baton Rouge and five-star WR Jarvis Landry (5-11, 190) out of Lutcher, La. The three five-star recruits are the most for an SEC signing class this year, according to Rivals. Former Georgia and Oconee County QB Zach Mettenberger (6-5, 250) already has enrolled at LSU after throwing for 32 TDs to lead Butler (Kan.) Community College to an 11-1 record in 2010.
Mississippi (27): Five of ESPN's top eight players in the state signed with the Rebels, including WR Nick Brassell (6-1, 176), who was once committed to Mississippi State. He is the No. 7 WR according to Scout. The Rebels also signed WR Tobias Singleton (6-0, 185) and LB C.J. Johnson (6-2, 235) out of Philadelphia, Miss., who also was once committed to Mississippi State, but changed his mind when Bulldogs defensive coordinator Manny Diaz left for Texas.
Mississippi State (22): Highly ranked DB Dee Arrington (6-2, 210) of Wiggins, Miss., was one of just a few of the state's top players to sign with the Bulldogs. He is the No. 9 safety in the county, according to Scout. Coach Dan Mullen looked in the state to sign WR Joe Morrow (6-5, 200), of Ocean Springs, and DT P.J. Jones (6-3, 260), of Tupelo. Georgians Darius Slay, a DB from Brunswick who was at Itawamba (Miss.) Community College, and DL Preston Smith out of Stephenson, also signed.
South Carolina (30): DE Jadeveon Clowney, of Rock Hill, S.C., the nation's top player according to most recruiting services, is waiting until Feb. 14 to sign, so the Gamecocks' class might not be complete until then. Otherwise, their top signees include OT Brandon Shell (6-6, 316), DB Sheldon Royster (5-11, 185) and DTs Phillip Dukes (6-2, 296) and Kelcy Quarles (6-5, 258). South Carolina signed 11 Georgians, including Peachtree Ridge LB Angelo Watley (6-1, 227) and Clarke Central QB Martay Mattox (6-1, 184).
Tennessee (27): The Volunteers missed on several players -- including Gabe Wright -- but signed OT Antonio Richardson (6-6, 310) out of Nashville, the No. 1 player in the state according to Rivals. They picked up late momentum with DB Byron Moore (6-1, 205), TE Cameron Clear (6-6, 265) and LB Curt Maggitt (6-3, 215), in addition to signing seven players from Georgia, including Kell DB Brian Randolph (6-0, 190), Gainesville LB A.J. Johnson (6-3, 245) and Cedar Grove WR Vincent Dallas (6-0, 180).
Vanderbilt (21): First-year coach James Franklin brought in three QBs in Lafonte Thourogood (6-3, 220), of Virginia Beach, Va., who had committed to Virginia Tech, and Josh Grady (6-0, 185), who accounted for 38 TDs as a senior in Tampa, and Kris Kentera (6-4, 195), of Colorado Springs, Colo. The Commodores will look for Chattahoochee DE Barron Dixon (6-4, 270) to make an immediate impact. Vanderbilt signed five DBs, but no LBs.
