Valdosta won Region 1-AAAAA and a spot in the Class AAAAA rankings with its 27-24 overtime victory over Colquitt County on Friday. The Wildcats are No. 9 entering the state playoffs.

Peachtree Ridge, which lost a similar region showdown in 7-AAAAA against North Gwinnett, is out of the rankings.

M.L. King moved up one spot to No. 3 after its 50-49 victory over Stephenson on Friday that decided the champion in Region 2-AAAAA.

Also new to the rankings this week are Chattahoochee (AAAA), Clarke Central (AAAA), Dublin (AA) and Emanuel County Institute (A). Dropping out are Ware County (AAAA), Flowery Branch (AAAA), Appling County (AA) and Wesleyan (A).
