Ranked teams went 43-2 in high school football last week, resulting in few changes in the rankings.
Cedar Grove, previously ranked No. 9 in Class AAA, dropped out after a 35-34 loss in overtime to LaGrange. Thomson (2-0) entered at No. 9.
In Class A, No. 7 Wilcox County beat No. 6 Clinch County 33-20, ending Clinch’s 17-game winning streak. Wilcox moved up to No. 5. Clinch fell to No. 8.
Expect more ranked dominance this week. The only games matching ranked opponents are No. 9 Thomson vs. No. 10 Washington County in AAA and No. 6 Lowndes of AAAAA against No. 2 Burke County of AAA.
