Five new teams are in the Georgia high school football rankings this week, each making its first appearance at least since 2008.

For one, Stockbridge, it's been 43 years.

In AAAAA, Walton (4-0) took the place of Colquitt County. It’s Walton’s first AJC ranking under coach Rocky Hidalgo, who is in his third season. Northgate (4-0) of Newnan is ranked for the first time since 2001 in AAAA.

In AAA, Stockbridge’s last ranking had been 1968. Stockbridge made the playoffs last season for the first time since 1983. This year, Stockbridge is 3-0 for only the second time in 20 years.

Joining Stockbridge as new to the AAA rankings is Mary Persons (4-0), last ranked in 2003.

Athens Academy (3-0) is back in the Class A rankings for the first time since 2008.

Gone from the rankings after losses last week are Colquitt County (AAAAA), Kell (AAAA), Cairo and Washington County (AAA) and Wesleyan (A).
