Class AAAAAA No. 1 Johns Creek lost two one-run games last week, but managed to add a victory against Centennial.
South Forsyth scored four runs in the sixth inning and capitalized on five Johns Creek errors to come back from an 8-5 deficit. A two-run single by junior Nate Schmal in the fifth helped the visiting War Eagles. Johns Creek rebounded Monday with a 9-3 victory against visiting Centennial. Matthew Gorst got the win with five innings of work and two earned runs. Brandon Gold had a double and three RBIs, and Justin Friend knocked in two runs.
The Gladiators visited West Forsyth on Wednesday and lost 4-3 as Alex DeCubellis scored on a wild pitch in the fifth inning to give the Wolverines a lead they would not relinquish. Zack Bitzer earned the victory for West Forsyth with five innings of work and two earned runs.

Soccer: AAA No. 1 St. Pius defeated No. 2 Blessed Trinity 2-1 in a Region 6 clash in Roswell. J.D. Manzo and Calvin Jackson each scored for the visiting Golden Lions. … The St. Pius girls, also top-ranked in AAA, won big games last week against No. 2 Blessed Trinity (2-0) and AA No. 9 Lovett (3-0). Amanda Vocelka and Carolina Wooten scored in each game, and goalie Hannah Smith stopped all shots in both games. … Berkmar defeated No. 4 Brookwood 1-0 on Tuesday to clinch to Region 8 championship. Sophomore Israel Lopez scored early in the second half for the Patriots. … Also in Region 8 on Tuesday, Parkview defeated No. 5 Central Gwinnett 1-0 as senior Abel Nguyen scored late in the second half. Alan Floyd, Andrew Kring, Jack O'Neal and Brody McGowan each scored for the Lions. Harrison Leeson scored on a penalty kick to help Lovett tie McCallie (Tenn.) on Friday. On April 10, Lovett defeated Marist 3-1 behind goals by William O'Neal, Jack O'Neal and McGowan. Golf: Westminster has won two tournaments this season, most recently at the Vidalia Invitational on April 5. The team has been led by seniors Tripp H'Doubler and Jackson Henzel. H'Doubler will play golf at Missouri next season, and Henzel will play for Baylor.
Lacrosse: No. 7 Chattahoochee has won seven consecutive gamest entering Friday night's matchup with South Forsyth. The Cougars took apart North Forsyth (13-2) on Monday and West Forsyth (11-5) on Saturday. The Cougars received four goals from sophomore Daniel Wilson, and Jack Cioffi had three goals and three assists.
Tennis: Wesleyan and St. Pius split matches last week. The St. Pius boys defeated Wesleyan 4-1, while the Wesleyan girls won 4-1. Sophia and Savannah Strickland and Saray Setplage each won a singles match for Wesleyan, and the doubles team of Kaitlin English-Leila Jordan also picked up a win. … Hillgrove's Matt Hill has signed to play tennis at UAB.
