As part of its renewed commitment to honor outstanding high school cross country and track and field athletes, Atlanta Track Club is making enhancements to the All-Metro High School Track and Field Banquet as well as its awards selection process.

This spring, Atlanta Track Club will select as many as 44 deserving student athletes for the 2015 All-Metro High School Track and Field Team. The public will then vote to help decide who will receive top honors as the Most Outstanding Track Athletes and Most Outstanding Field Athletes.

“By getting coaches and fans involved in the All-Metro selection process, we are giving the sport’s local fans a voice they haven’t had to date,” said Rich Kenah, Atlanta Track Club’s executive director. “Atlanta Track Club looks forward to celebrating  the season’s top performances with the region’s top athletes, families and friends.”

Immediately following the Georgia High School Association's Girls and Boys State Track Meets, All-Metro athletes will be selected based on criteria including major meet wins, performance at the state meet and a complete season overview. The names and bios of these athletes will be posted at atlantatrackclub.org and ga.milesplit.com on May 19. Once announced, coaches and the community can go online and vote for the Most Outstanding Track Athletes and Most Outstanding Field Athletes. One boy and one girl will be named for each category for a total of four awards. Voting will be open online at ga.milesplit.com  through May 24.

Additionally, Atlanta Track Club will accept nominations for the Coach's Dedication Award. Students, parents and the coaches themselves can nominate those who demonstrate outstanding dedication to the development of the sport's student athletes. Nomination forms can be found at atlantatrackclub.org and must be submitted by May 21.

The 2015 All-Metro High School Track and Field Team will be honored at the College Football Hall of Fame in downtown Atlanta on June 3. The student athletes who have been named Most Outstanding Track Athlete and Most Outstanding Field Athlete will be announced at the banquet as well as who will receive the Coach’s Dedication Award.

Family members, coaches and friends are invited to celebrate the success of the student athletes at the 2015 All-Metro High School Track and Field Banquet. For more information, visit atlantatrackclub.org.
