Lowndes football coach Jamey DuBose is home from the hospital after being treated for COVID-19, his wife, Tracy, posted on her Twitter on Sunday.

DuBose was hospitalized Friday, two days after Lowndes shut down practices for two weeks because of infection in the football program.

Lowndes is 5-0 and ranked No. 1 in Class 7A under DuBose, a new coach at the school. DuBose replaced the retiring Randy McPherson. He had won three state titles in Alabama, most recently at Central High of Phenix City.

DuBose is the fourth coach in South Georgia to be hospitalized and released with a COVID-19 diagnosis. The others were Irwin County’s Casey Soliday, Statesboro’s Jeff Kaiser and Tift County’s Ansley Anders.
