Lovejoy pulled within 14-13 in the final minute of the third quarter on an 80-yard TD pass from Quantarius Neely (15-of-30 passing, 226 yards) to Preston Williams (six catches, 124 yards) but missed the extra point. Lovejoy drove 70 yards in the final minutes but failed to get the game-winner inside Colquitt County's 10-yard line. Lovejoy suffered two 5-yard penalties. Last week: Beat North Oconee 28-23. St. Pius defended five goal-to-go plays in the final minute to hold off North Oconee after leading 28-10 late in the third quarter. The big play offensively came in the third quarter when QB Brandon Thomas threw a 54-yard slant pass to Ben Haeussler, setting up Thomas' 3-yard TD pass to Jack Bush for a 14-3 lead. Last week: Lost to Aquinas 19-16. All-state RB Stanley Williams rushed for 101 yards on 17 carries but played little after halftime because of an injury.
