Tilley medalist in U.S. Mid-Am qualifying

Defending U.S. Mid-Amateur champion Stewart Hagestad of Newport Beach, Calif., birdied six holes from Nos. 7-16 and shot a second-round 64 to finish in a three-way tie for second in the 36-hole qualifying for this year’s event that was delayed a day by weather.
Bradford Tilley of Easton, Conn., shot a 69-67 and was medalist at 5-under 136. Match play for the low 64 scorers begins today at the Capital City Club in Atlanta.
