Once of the most valuable Georgia Bulldogs might be headed to the NFL and he’s not a player.

ESPN reported that offensive coordinator Todd Monken, national champion Georgia’s play-caller, will interview with the Tampa Bay Bucs next week about their vacant offensive coordinator opening.

The NFL Network reported that Monken has already interviewed for the same job with the Baltimore Ravens. Monken likely will have other options too. Several other teams also have coordinator openings.

Monken has a history with the Bucs. He was their offensive coordinator from 2016 through 2018.

The 56-year-old Monken has helped Georgia win back-to-back national championships. The Bulldogs finished fourth in college football in points per game this season with 41.1 and fifth in yards per game at 501.1.

He is college football’s highest-paid assistant at $2.1 million per year through 2024.

If Monken leaves for the NFL, Georgia would have a large pool of candidates to replace him, including Mike Bobo, who is already is on the staff as an analyst. He’s been offensive coordinator at three SEC schools, including Georgia under Mark Richt.
