ATHENS -- Georgia’s No. 1-ranked recruiting class for 2022 added another member Friday. De’Nylon Morrissette, a wide receiver out of North Cobb High School, announced his commitment to the Bulldogs on his social-media accounts.

“Staying home,” was the simple message, followed by a dog emoji.

Georgia coach Kirby Smart followed with his customary “Go Dawgs” tweet around 2:30 p.m.

The 6-foot-1, 200-pound rising senior is a rated a 4-star prospect and the No. 35 wide receiver in the country, according to the 247Sports Composite ranking. Morrissette is the 13th member of Georgia’s 2022 class, which includes three 5-star prospects and eight 4-star recruits. He is the first pure wideout of the class. Morrissette had numerous scholarship offers and chose the Bulldogs over Alabama and Florida, primarily because of a growing relationship with 4-star quarterback commitment Gunner Stockton.

“He wants me to play with him a lot,” Morrissette told DawgNation of Stockton.

Morrissette has moved around a lot during his high school career. After playing his sophomore season in Baltimore at St. Frances Academy, Morrissette returned to Snellville last year and starred for Brookwood High. He caught 63 passes for 847 yards and seven touchdowns. Morrissette recently transferred to North Cobb. There he’s expected to become a main target for quarterback Malachi Singleton, one of the state’s top recruits for 2023.
