Gabriel Geay was the top male finisher in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race on Monday.

Geay, a native of Tanzania, completed the 6.2-mile race from Lenox Square to Piedmont Park in an unofficial time of 28 minutes, 47 seconds.

Scott Overall was the defending champ, completing the 10K course last year in 29 minutes, 30 seconds.

Kenya’s Joseph Kimani set the race record (27:04) in 1996. Craig Virgin set the American race record (28:03) in 1981.

Abdi Abdirahman was the top U.S. finisher with an official time of 29:23.30.

Jared Ward, who will race the marathon at the Rio Summer Olympics, finished in 29:28.72.
