Ahead of Atlanta United’s match Sunday against the Seattle Sounders, manager Frank de Boer updated the status of a pair of midfielders.

George Bello, who suffered a right adductor injury during training and has been out since May 3, reportedly is doing better, according to de Boer. He’s been able to participate in field activities.

“He’s doing well, but we have to be cautious with him,” de Boer said. “Hopefully he can join us very soon.”

Ezequiel Barco suffered a knee injury in the team’s U.S. Open Cup victory over the Columbus Crew, winning 3-2 on June 18. He suffered a knock in a tackle during the game. After initially saying he could be out two weeks, de Boer spoke on his status Friday.

Barco, is traveling with the team, but not playing. He’s been working with the ball and training.

“He’s doing really well, (but) it’s better that he’s training,” De Boer said.
