Former Buford quarterback Justin Roper is transferring from Oregon to the University of Montana.

Roper, who started Oregon's first three games last season until hurting his knee, decided to leave the Ducks after finishing spring practice behind starter Jeremiah Masoli, according to coach Chip Kelly.

The 6-6 redshirt junior will be eligible to play this fall because the Grizzlies play in I-AA.

Roper, who led Buford to a 25-3 record as a junior and senior, completed 48 of 91 throws for 610 yards last season, with three touchdowns and four interceptions.
