Here’s what Falcons coach Dan Quinn has to say about punter Matt Wile earlier on Wednesday:

On Matt Wile:

“He’ll kick and punt today. It’s good to have him as a part of it. We made one other additional roster move. We released Stevan Ridley today. We’ll have some more information later, but that move was made today. We’ll have a better indication if he’ll kick and punt towards the end of the week after we see Bosher participate on Friday.”

On whether he’s concerned about having to go into a big game with a kid who hasn’t kicked in the NFL:

“Well yeah. We’ll leave that worry until later. We’ll see him practice and perform all week. He’s been training and he’s been ready. He looked good in the work out. We’ll take him through the week and see how he looks, but if he’s here he’s here for a reason to help us win. He gives us the best opportunity to do that if we call upon him to do that. We’ll let that worry take place later on in the week.”

On how he looked during his tryout on Monday. [The Falcons also worked out kicker/punters Ty Long (Alabama-Birmingham) and Kasey Redfern (Wofford) on Monday] :

“We did the whole compliment of stuff. We asked him to kickoff and he did a good job at that and then backed up punting, big leg, pooch punts, inside the 50 and he did a nice job on that too. He looked like a real competitor and in those workouts it’s interesting when you have them go against one another when there’s three or four, and it’s actually the preferred way to do that. To know their part of a competition while they’re there and if that’s the only little competition we can create on that day it’s worthwhile. He did a good job.”
