Houston Roughnecks linebacker Edmond Robinson (51) recovers a fumble and runs toward the end zone during the game between the Dallas Renegades and the Houston Roughnecks on March 1, 2020 at Globe Life Park in Arlington. Texas.

After losing De'Vondre Campbell in free agency, the Falcons were thin at the linebacker position behind Deion Jones and Foye Oluokun.

In the second phase of free agency the Falcons added linebacker LaRoy Reynolds and Edmond Robinson to provide depth. They also can add additional linebackers in the draft, which is set for April 23-25, and in the undrafted rookie class.

Reynolds is a special-teams maven who played with the Falcons in 2016 and 2017.

Robinson, who last played for the Houston Roughnecks of the XFL, agreed to terms on a one-year contract with the Falcons on Saturday.

Robinson, who’s 6-foot-2 and 245 pounds, was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the seventh round (232nd overall) of the 2015 NFL draft.

Robinson, who played at Newberry, also has spent time with the Jets and Cardinals. He has played in 22 NFL games and made one start.

He's the second player the Falcons signed from the XFL. They also signed former D.C. Defenders tight end Khari Lee. He also played with the Arizona Hotshots of the Alliance of American Football.
