Kacey Reynolds, 19, announes that Louisiana State linebacker Devin White has been selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the first round at the NFL football draft, Thursday, April 25, 2019, in Nashville, Tenn.

Kacey Reynolds, a Banks County, Ga., teenager who last year announced the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ first-round pick at the NFL Draft in Nashville has died after a three-year battle with Hodgkin lymphoma, the team announced Sunday.

Reynolds, a lifelong Bucs fan from Maysville, received the opportunity to announce LSU’s Devin White as the fifth-overall draft selection through the Make-A-Wish organization.

After making the announcement, Reynolds, 19, and his family traveled with White to Tampa where he met with team officials and star wide receiver Mike Evans.

Evans on Sunday tweeted, “This one hurts man,” in response to the team’s Tweet, which in part read “We’re saddened by the passing of Buccaneers fan Kacey Reynolds. Our hearts go out to his family. Kacey ... will forever be part of the Buccaneers family.”
