Tale of the tape: C.J. Henderson vs. Desmond Trufant

The Falcons unceremoniously cut their No.1 cornerback Desmond Trufant and didn’t replace him in free agency.

Isaiah Oliver, who had a streaky second season, and Kendall Sheffield, who had a strong rookie season, don’t appear ready for the promotion to top cornerback.

That’s why the Falcons will select Florida’s C.J. Henderson with the 16th overall pick in the draft.

Trufant signed with Detroit in free agency. Henderson has a 6.74 draft grade which translates into a “first-year, quality starter” by NFL.com’s rankings.

Henderson and Trufant, who was selected 22nd overall in the 2013 draft, have nearly identical measurables:
