The Jacksonville Jaguars set a franchise record for sacks in a game with their Week 1 performance against the Houston Texans.

The 10 sacks and three forced fumbles, earned the Jags the moniker of  “Sacksonville.”

The Sporting News took the chance to list the "NFL's 10 best-ever defensive nicknames."

Glaringly missing from the list was the Falcons' Grits Blitz defense of four decades ago.

The defense -- the brainchild of Falcons coach Leeman Bennett and defensive assistant Jerry Glanville -- was composed of a swarming blitz scheme. The team’s scheme included a play called “Sticky Sam” that called for no less than nine players blitzing on a play.

Also absent were famed monikers Orange Crush (1970s Denver Broncos), Killer Bees (1980s Miami Dolphins), and Fearsome Foursome (1960s L.A. Rams).

Here are the defenses that did make Sporting News’ list, in the order given:

10. No-name defense: 1972 Dolphins

9. Mile High No-Fly Zone: Current Denver Broncos

8. New York Sack Exchange: 1980s N.Y. Jets

7. Monsters of the Midway: 1980s Chicago Bears

6. Purple People Eaters: 1970s Minnesota Vikings

5. Steel Curtain: 1970s Pittsburgh Steelers

4. Blitzburgh: Current Steelers

3. Doomsday I & II: 1970s Dallas Cowboys

2. Legion of Boom: Current Seattle Seahawks

1. Sacksonville: Current Jacksonville Jaguars
