Smith wants more short-yardage work

Aug 27, 2014

Falcons coach Mike Smith is hoping to get into a couple of real-game situations in the final exhibition game against Jacksonville at 6 p.m. Thursday night.

The Falcons were stuffed in a short-yardage situation last week against Tennessee.

“I would love to get another short-yardage situation,” Smith said.

The Falcons have made a point of wanting to run the ball effectively when teams know they are going to run the ball.
