Ryan practiced with hip injury

Dec 30, 2015

FLOWERY BRANCH – Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan (hip) was listed on the team's official injury report, but fully participated in practice Wednesday.

Ryan was under duress in the game against the Panthers and took several hits. He apparently hurt his hip after being hit by Carolina safety Kurt Coleman on a scramble on the Falcons’ opening drive. He continued to play and did not miss any action.

“I feel good,” Ryan said. “It felt good getting out onto the practice field today and to be able to out and get the work in that we needed to. I feel great.”

Ryan didn’t have any test or a MRI to diagnose his injury.

“Just the normal stuff Monday and Tuesday stuff to get your body back ready to go by Wednesday,” Ryan said. “That’s a process that all the guys in our locker room face every week. We put our work in and I did the same. It felt good to get out on the practice field today.”

Cornerback Robert Alford (ankle), linebacker Justin Durant (hip), running back Devonta Freeman (knee), returner Devin Hester (toe), defensive tackle Grady Jarrett (shoulder) and linebacker Paul Worrilow (knee) were limited in practice.

Cornerback Phillip Adams (hamstring), right guard Chris Chester (shoulder), running back Tevin Coleman (concussion), wide receiver Eric Weems (concussion), and wide receiver Roddy White (ankle) did not practice.
