Matt Ryan struggled Sunday in the Falcons match-up with the Redskins, causing two turnovers in the first half.

In the Falcons’ first possession of the game, Ryan’s pass intended for Julio Jones was intercepted by Redskins safety Trenton Robinson. Robinson returned the interception for eight yards to the Washington 25.

Before Robinson’s interception, Ryan had thrown 116 pass attempts without an interception. Ryan’s last interception was in the Falcons’ 26-24 victory over the Eagles in week one.

Later, Redskins linebacker Will Compton recovered a fumble by Ryan with 2:17 remaining in the half on Washington’s 13-yard line. Ryan was sacked by Chris Baker and Jason Hatcher.

Ryan was sacked three times in the first half, twice by Ryan Kerrigan. Ryan’s three sacks lost 14 yards offensive for the Falcons (-).

As the half closed, Ryan, under pressure, completed a third-down pass just shy of the first down. Kicker Matt Bryant missed his first field-goal attempt of the season on a 38-yard attempt that bounced off the right upright.

In the third quarter, Bryant missed a second field-goal attempt that bounced off the left upright.
