FLOWERY BRANCH – Falcons coach Dan Quinn knows what makes wide receiver Julio Jones tick.

“In my experience just being around him every day, it’s the competitor that sets him apart,” Quinn said. “I mean it’s the physical skills too, but there’s that and then the added part of the competitor. You know, like this rare world class talent where the other half of it is this rare world class competitor. I think you’re putting both of those two things together, and it makes a pretty unique guy.”

Jones is off to special start.

He has 34 catches for 440 yards and four touchdowns.

He’s on pace for a 181-catch, 2,347-yard and 21-touchdown season, which would shatter records for catches and yards.

Indianapolis Marvin Harris caught 143 passes in 2002 and holds that single season mark.

Detroit Calvin Johnson set the receiving years single-season mark with 1,964 in 2012.

Randy Moss, with New England in 2007, set the most touchdowns receiving in a single-season mark with 23.
