FLOWERY BRANCH – Falcons coach Dan Quinn helped to recruit safety Keanu Neal to play at Florida when he was the school's defensive coordinator back in 2012.

Neal never played for Quinn, who left to return to Seattle as their defensive coordinator.

But the background that the Falcons had on Neal was helpful, although Quinn and Neal didn’t have any contact until the pre-draft process.

“Really it was the tape, that physical style that he played with,” Quinn said. “All of these guys, we reach and dig into their background and find out so much about them, every where we looked, it just showed up in terms of the character and what he stands for both as a man and as a player. It certainly helped that we knew him so well and I couldn’t be pumped up to have him here.”
