Falcons safety Ricardo Allen met Thursday with the local media via Microsoft Teams.

Here are five quick takes from the call:

1. Schedule-release show. Allen does not plan to watch the three-hour show Thursday night. He already knows who the Falcons are playing in the coming season and doesn't really care about the dates or other details.

2. Fowler pickup. He likes how defensive end Dante Fowler gets so hyped in the virtual meetings, and he sees the connection between Fowler and fellow former Florida Gator Keanu Neal.

3. Shoulder update. Allen is recovering from offseason shoulder surgery. He reported that all is well and that he's ready to start doing push-ups, but he hasn't been approved to do them.

4. Coaching aspirations. Allen showed off his Kyle Shanahan offensive playbook and received approval to listen to the voice-overs by offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter and offensive line coach Chris Morgan. He has a newfound respect for how the lineman must be the smartest guys on the field.

5. No fans. Allen believes that he can adjust to playing before no fans if that happens in 2020. "It would be weird, but I know the world needs sports."
