Falcons coach Dan Quinn praised several players who had strong training camps, including center Alex Mack and defensive tackle Dontari Poe.

“I thought Alex Mack has thrown a great camp,” Quinn said on Monday. “He looks as quick and as strong as ever.”

Tackles Jake Matthews and Ryan Schraeder also had strong camps.

“Jake, in this last game and I know he only played nine or 10 plays, but he looked faster and stronger maybe at anytime since I’ve been here,” Quinn said. “So, I was encouraged by that.”

Poe, who was signed as a free agent after Kansas City released him, has made some major strides.

“Since spring and into training camp the player who improved the most was Dontari Poe,” Quinn said. “We are putting him into a new style and new system, he’s somebody that jumped out to me for sure.”

Other players with good camps include defensive end Adrian Clayborn and defensive tackle Ra’Shede Hageman.
