Linebacker Jerrell Freeman won't be joining Falcons

The Falcons won't be adding Jerrell Freeman to their linebacker corps.

The former Indianapolis Colts player agreed to a three-year, $12 million contract with the Chicago Bears Saturday.

Falcons coach Dan Quinn had said the team had spoken to Freeman and was "very impressed with his tape from Indy.”

The Falcons did add a linebacker Friday, bringing veteran Sean Weatherspoon back to the team.

Freeman, 29, started 57 games for the Colts. Since entering the NFL in 2012, he is tied for sixth in the league in tackles.
