Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones went through a light workout with assistant head coach Raheem Morris about two hours before the game against New Orleans on Thursday night at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

He came on the field with the wide receivers an hour before the game, but did not work in the pass-catching line, which foreshadowed that he would be inactive against the Saints, snapping a streak of 46 consecutive games.

“I know that Julio wants to play and is doing everything in his power to be able to play,” Falcons offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter said Wednesday. “(Quinn) and Julio will work it out at the end. We’ve got a plan both ways. The game is going to go on.

“We’ll have to do some different things with (Calvin Ridley) and with (Russell Gage), just like if Julio is guy that you replace. We just have to move some guys around and make the best of it.”

Jones hasn’t missed a game since the 2016 season, when he didn’t play in Games 13 and 14 with a sprained big toe in his right foot. He also had ankle and calf injuries that season and had a binion surgically removed from his foot after Super Bowl LI.

Falcons coach Dan Quinn said he wanted to see “full strength of the ability to use his (right) shoulder.”

The other Falcons inactives: defensive end John Cominsky, defensive tackle Deadrin Senat, offensive tackle Matt Gono, tight end Austin Hooper, wide receiver Brandon Powell and tight end Luke Stocker.

The Saints’ inactives: cornerback Patrick Robinson, safety Saquan Hampton, fullback Zach Line, tackle Terron Armstead, guard Andrus Peat, tight end Dan Arnold and defensive end Carl Granderson.
