Falcons injury report: Julio Jones returned to practice

Dec 4, 2019

Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones, who missed the last game with a shoulder injury, returned to practice in limited status on Wednesday, according to the team’s official injury report.

Offensive lineman Ty Sambrailo (hamstring), offensive guard James Carpenter (concussion) and defensive lineman Allen Bailey (personal reasons) did not practice.

Wide receiver Calvin Ridley (toe), cornerback Desmond Trufant (toe), safety Ricardo Allen (oblique), safety Sharrod Neasman (shoulder), tight end Luke Stocker (back), tight end Austin Hooper (knee), wide receiver Russell Gage (ribs), tight end Jaeden Graham (thigh) were also limited in practice.

Before the Saints game on Thanksgiving, Jones went through a light workout with assistant head coach Raheem Morris about two hours before kickoff.

He came on the field with the wide receivers an hour before the game, but did not work in the pass-catching line, which foreshadowed that he would be inactive against the Saints, snapping a streak of 46 consecutive games.

Jones hadn’t missed a game since the 2016 season, when he didn’t play in Games 13 and 14 with a sprained big toe in his right foot. He also had ankle and calf injuries that season and had a binion surgically removed from his foot after Super Bowl LI.
