Falcons rookie running back Brian Hill will return to practice Wednesday after being sidelined since the second exhibition game.

Hill suffered an ankle injury against the Steelers last month. He was inactive for the regular-season opener at the Bears.

“From an injury standpoint, we’re in good shape,” Falcons coach Dan Quinn said before Wednesday’s practice. “We’ve got Hill back. He’ll get some team reps. Past that, we are in good shape. We’ll have some guys who’ll be limited to a small degree. We are fortunate that way.”

Hill is listed as the fourth running back on the roster behind Devonta Freeman, Tevin Coleman and Terron Ward. Before the injury, he was being groomed for a role on special teams.
