I left on Jan. 2 for Phoenix, and I've been out here just working out.
The weather is good. We are doing a lot of things to work on my speed, and I'm trying to get more explosive. It's going pretty well.
On my typical day, I wake up around 8 o'clock and go into the training facility ... just to make sure that I get my breakfast in. Then around 10 o'clock we go through our workouts on the field and in the weight room. We do a lot of speed work on the field.
We do a lot of different things on the field and off the field. Then we get a little break and have lunch. After lunch, I'll go run a couple of routes. We come back at 3:30 p.m. and get the second workout in.
Some of the players that I'm working out with are [former Alabama wide receiver] Julio Jones, [former Texas cornerback] Aaron Williams, [former North Carolina wide receiver] Greg Little, [former Missouri quarterback] Blaine Gabbert and [former Florida State quarterback] Christian Ponder. A lot of the top guys are here. Blaine and Christian are two of the top quarterbacks, and it's good to have them throwing to me.
Nutrition is something that is big around here. They let you put on weight the right way. I needed to put on 10 pounds, and I put on all lean muscle. You just have to treat your body right for it to come out right.
With the [NFL scouting] combine coming up, I know that I just have to go in there and be myself. It's a tough environment, but you just have to relax and be yourself.
It doesn't even matter if I go to a warm-weather city or a cold-weather city. I just want to play in the NFL.
My plan is to take part in all of the drills at the combine.
So far, this has been fun. Especially coming out here and working with some of the top guys. I'm meeting a lot of good people that are helping me prepare to be a professional.
