In a season packed with accomplishment, Falcons’ running back Devonta Freeman added another Sunday running over 1,000 yards this season.
The last Falcons’ running back to run over over 1,000 yards in a season was Mike Turner who rushed 1,340 yards in 2011.
Freeman broke the 1,000 yard mark on a four-yard run in the first quarter against the Saints.
With a two-yard carry in the second quarter, Freeman reached another career milestone on Sunday — recording over 1,600 total yards this season. Entering Sunday’s match up with the Saints, Freeman had 560 receiving yards and three receiving touchdowns this season.
Adding to his first career Pro Bowl nomination, Freeman adds his over 1,000 season rushing total to leading the league in rushing touchdowns (11) tied with Steelers’ DeAngelo Williams entering the last game of regular season.
