FLOWERY BRANCH — Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones, who's been in and out practice over the past two weeks with a toe and hamstring injuries, was back at practice on Monday.
“Just from the end of last week, he was doing really good,” Falcons coach Dan Quinn said. “There were no set backs at all from the game. Moving forward, he’s doing great.”
Jones has been listed as probable for the three of the past four games. He was listed as questionable for the Washington game.
He played in all of the games despite having limited practice time.
He was clearly out of sync with quarterback in the Washington game. He came back to catch six of 10 targets for 93 yards against the Saints.
Before facing the Saints, Falcons coach Dan Quinn said Jones needed time to get in sync with Ryan since he didn’t practice this week. They warmed up together before the game.
Jones has received extensive therapy for the hamstring, including ice and electric stimulation, but said he’s mostly been resting.
Jones is third in the NFL with 49 receptions. He is second in yards receiving with 638.
San Diego’s Keenan Allen leads the league with 53 catches followed by Houston’s DeAndre Hopkins, who has 52 catches.
Hopkins leads the league in yards receiving with 728.
After fast start to the season, Jones’ production has tapered off.
After catching nine, 13 and 12 passes in the first three games, Jones caught four passes for 38 yards against Houston and five for 67 yards against Washington before facing the Saints.
